Sobre

I studied Languages and Literature at "Universidade de São Paulo", my city’s biggest university. I graduated in 1995. I studied in México and Spain to improve my Spanish and my knowledge in culture, tourism, geography, history, arts, gastronomy, people customs and habits, etc. I teach Portuguese for Foreigners at FAAP some days a week. The other days I´m a freelancer in other fields with other languages.

"Shaly was a perfect local friend for when we visited at the end of April 2015. She took us to Ibirapuera Park first using local transport. Saw some modern arts as well as the sights of the park. Also took us up a building with great views of the area. Next she took us to the municipal markets to try out the great restaurants there. Then to a great view point of downtown São Paulo at the Edificio Italia building. This is free between 3-4 pm every week day which we wouldn't of know if not for Shaly. She also prepared a list of suggestions for our second day in São Paulo. Overall a very good host and more than helpful in her attitude. "

"My rent a local friend experience was amazing. Shaly went above and beyond to ensure I got to see what I wanted to see in Sao Paulo in one day. She is very friendly, knowledgeable about the city and her English is great. She even helped me work out a rough itinerary for the next day (my last day in Brazil before I went back home) with details on transport, which museums were best, etc. I could not recommend her more for a day in Sao Paulo. Make sure you put your walking shoes on as she knows how to get around the city on foot and public transport without the need for taxis. In my day I went to some landmarks, viewed some amazing street art, to the MASP (even worked out when to get in for free) anc Caixa Cultura, the Cathedral, and to a shopping mall plus a yummy place for lunch. "Shaly is extremely personable, took us to interesting places, was well informed, and made us feel comfortable. She was able to give us a good understanding of the exhibits in the Afro-Brazilian museum. She took us to a wonderful place for lunch, where we tried Brazilian specialties. We highly recommend her. "Shaly was the perfect São Paulo guide! She prepared beforehand when was informed of my interests and she tailored our day accordingly. Shaly picked me up at my hotel at nine in the morning and we had a full day program ahead of us. But she was also very attentive to my wishes and adjusted the plans along the way. The best thing about this concept is that you really have someone to talk to about how it is to live in São Paulo and Brazil. Someone to ask all the questions that come to mind when walking around in this huge city. Shaly also show a true interest in sharing not only the attractions but also the small important details like tasting Pão de queijo or coco water. Shaly is very talkative, friendly and very well informed about culture, arts and the academic world. But I do believe anyone would have a fun and interesting day with Shaly. She laughs and smiles a lot and she is a very caring person! I’ve seen so much today! It would have taken me several days to cover all the things we did on my own. Shaly also arranges day tours outside the city, to the beach and to an art and crafts village outside town. Unfortunately I did not have time for that. I haven’t been able to find many English speaking persons in São Paulo. Shaly speaks English very well, even though she doesn’t agree. But that’s probably just because she’s a language teacher (Spanish) and her standards are set very high. Her knowledge of the English language is really good. When I had to change hotels in the evening she came along to see that everything worked out. She even mailed me more tips about the city the day after. Shaly was all I was hoping for and more."

"I am glad we met Shaly. We had a wonderful experience seeing San Paolo, walking in the eco park, getting a bus ride, sampling the food and attending the exibitions. With half-a-day in town we saw the most and got the best impression we could due to Shaly's knowledge and great ideas. She is also very interesting person and nice to talk to, we had tons of fun. I definitely recommend Shaly's help to the independed travellers who want to get a flavor of the city, not just sightseeing."
